You can link your **external bank accounts** to Fynex so it can read their **balances and transactions** into your dashboard — giving you [one place to see your real cash position](/features/cash/). Connecting is **read-only**: it lets Fynex see the account, not move money out of it.

## Connect an account

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations** (External integrations).
2. Choose to connect a bank account and select your bank.
3. Authorise the read-only connection with your bank.

Once connected, the account's balance and transactions appear in Fynex and refresh automatically.

## Read-only, by design

A connected bank account is for **visibility** — Fynex reads it to show your position and help reconcile. It's separate from your **payout account**, which is where Fynex sends money you withdraw. To set up where money goes out, see [How do I add a bank account for payouts?](/docs/payouts/how-do-i-add-a-bank-account-for-payouts/)
