When you connect QuickBooks, Fynex **reads in your accounting data** — customers, suppliers, invoices, payments, and bills — and uses it to power your dashboard and insights. It's a **one-way read**: Fynex brings information in from QuickBooks but doesn't write changes back into it, so connecting is safe and won't alter your books.

## What syncs in

- **Customers** and **suppliers (vendors)**
- **Invoices** and the **payments** against them
- **Bills** you owe

## What it powers

This data lets Fynex show a fuller picture — what you're owed, what you owe, and where money is moving — and helps [reconcile it against the payments Fynex processes directly](/features/reconciliation/). Because it's read-only, QuickBooks stays your system of record; Fynex reads from it.

## Connecting

Connect QuickBooks from your integrations settings and authorise the connection. Once linked, your data syncs in and refreshes. To connect your bank feeds too, see [How do I connect my bank accounts?](/docs/integrations/how-do-i-connect-my-bank-accounts/)
