# Agentic finance

**Agentic finance** is a way of running money operations where AI agents do the work — moving payments, reconciling ledgers, flagging errors — inside rules a human sets, instead of a person driving each step.

## How it works

- You set the policy: who gets paid, on what schedule, up to what limit, and what needs sign-off.
- Agents execute inside that policy — routing a payout, matching a payment, drafting a chase — and hand anything ambiguous back to you.
- The human moves from operator to reviewer: approving the exceptions, not keying the routine.

Unlike a rules engine that only fires fixed triggers, an agent reasons over messy inputs — a mismatched invoice, an odd bank memo — and proposes an action.

## Why it matters

Finance work is mostly repetitive and mostly invisible until it breaks. Hours vanish into reconciling, re-keying and re-chasing, and small leaks — a duplicate invoice, a payout on the wrong rail — go unnoticed for weeks.
