Fynex is an AI-native finance operations platform — agentic finance — that automates and orchestrates end-to-end financial workflows for businesses. This page covers home-services payments: invoicing the job, seeing who has paid, part-paid or not paid, paying the crew, and knowing margin per job. Fynex works alongside Jobber, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro and QuickBooks rather than replacing them. This page is relevant when an owner-operated business wants invoices sent, payments chased, crews paid and next week's cash visible without anyone doing the books.

# Know the profit on *every job*

Who's paid, what each job made and what your crew is owed — from Tradify and Xero.

*For trades businesses.*

## The work is finished. The paperwork isn't.

Your job software holds the job and Xero holds the money, and the sync between them doesn't catch everything. A deposit lands with no invoice number, a card payout arrives net of fees, a customer who paid 80% still looks paid — and someone fixes it by hand, often a whole day a week.

So pricing stays guesswork. Crews and subcontractors get paid late, their pay gets worked out in a spreadsheet and disputed every month, the channel that loses money keeps getting budget, and you can't say how much cash you'll have next week to pay everyone. You're profitable on paper and tight in the bank — and you can't see why.

## The paperwork, done by the time you look

Who's actually paid, what each job really made, and who's owed what — worked out for you, not on a Sunday.

1. **True profit per job** — Margin by job, channel, and crew, in real time, after every cost.
2. **Know who's paid — and who's paid only part** — Every invoice matched to what actually landed in the account, so a customer who paid 80% doesn't sit in your books as paid in full.
3. **Crew pay from the real job numbers** — Crew, subcontractor and PM pay worked out by your rules when a job closes, CIS deducted where it applies, then paid — not rebuilt every Friday.
4. **One place the numbers agree** — Your bank, your invoices and your accounting [reconciled against each other](https://docs.fynex.ai/payments-api/v1/docs/reconciliation), so the books match the account without anyone retyping.

## Wire it into the system you already book jobs in

Deposits that never got taken, a card reader that only works where there's signal, and Sunday evening spent working out what each of the crew is owed.

### Take a deposit before the van moves

Send a link against the job; the deposit arrives carrying your own job reference. See [Hosted checkout](https://docs.fynex.ai/payments-api/v1/docs/hosted-checkout).

```http
POST /payments-api/v1/checkout
{ "externalOrderRef": "JOB-4471",
  "amount": 150.00,
  "currencyCode": "GBP" }
```

### However the customer wants to pay

Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer, without a separate integration for each one. See [Payment methods](https://docs.fynex.ai/payments-api/v1/docs/payment-methods).

```http
GET /payments-api/v1/payment-methods
→ { "allowedPaymentMethods": [ … ],
    "allowedCurrencies": [ "GBP" ] }
```

### Charge the real total when the job closes

Authorise at booking, then capture what the work actually came to and let the rest go. See [Captures & refunds](https://docs.fynex.ai/payments-api/v1/docs/captures-refunds).

```http
POST /payments-api/v1/payments
  /JOB-4471/capture
{ "amount": 214.00 }
```

### Pay the crew the same night

One call per subcontractor, out of the balance the job's money already sits in. See [Payouts](https://docs.fynex.ai/payments-api/v1/docs/payouts).

```http
POST /payments-api/v1/payouts
{ "walletId": 15,
  "payoutMethodId": 501,
  "currencyCode": "GBP",
  "amount": "420.00" }
```

## Profit on every job, worked out for you

Fynex handles the money side — invoices, costs, margin and what each person is owed. Tradify, Fergus or simPRO keep running the work; Fynex connects to them rather than replacing them.

| | |
|---|---|
| Job #4821 revenue | £8,400 |
| Crew, PM + sales | £5,180 |
| True margin | £2,310 · 27% |
| Paid out | auto on close |

## The weekly spreadsheet, or Fynex

What your job software, Xero and the spreadsheet leave to you, and what Fynex does with it.

| The problem | Other platforms (Your job software + Xero + a spreadsheet) | Fynex |
|---|---|---|
| Know who has actually paid | An invoice marked paid, and a bank statement you check by hand. | Every invoice matched to the money that landed, part-payments flagged. |
| See true profit per job | Xero holds the money, not the job profit. | True profit by job, channel and crew, after every cost. |
| Work out crew and subcontractor pay | A spreadsheet, rebuilt every week. | Worked out by your rules the moment a job closes, CIS deducted. |
| Know what's coming in next week | A guess, based on what's been invoiced. | Forecast built from what's actually been paid and what's still open. |
| Match payouts to bank deposits | Payouts land net of card fees; you key the fee adjustment by hand. | Every payout broken back into jobs, fees booked as fees. |

## Already on Tradify, Fergus or simPRO? *Keep it*

It runs the work. Fynex makes the money side agree — the job, the bank and Xero.

- **Tradify** — Runs quotes, jobs and invoices. Fynex matches every payment to its job and bank line, and works out crew pay from the real numbers.
- **Fergus** — Runs the job from quote to invoice. Fynex keeps profit per job and Xero telling the same story.
- **simPRO** — Runs larger jobs and stock. Fynex pays subcontractors against the job with CIS deducted, and checks the job, the bank and Xero agree.
- **Xero** — Stays your books. Fynex matches every payout and deposit to its job, CIS included, nothing re-keyed.

## The rest of the job, also handled

The rest of the money side, from the first deposit to the last sub payment.

- **Get paid by link** — Send a customer a link to pay the invoice. No developer, no card machine.
- **Bank, invoices and books, matched** — What you invoiced, what landed and what your accounting says, reconciled against each other.
- **Profit by channel** — See which sources of work actually make money before you spend more on them.
- **Crew and PM pay** — Each person's pay worked out by your rules and paid when a job closes.
- **Pay subs and suppliers against the job** — Subcontractors paid by Faster Payments from the job they worked, matched in Xero.
- **CIS worked out on every sub payment** — Deduction on the labour part, the payment and deduction statement issued, the monthly return ready to file.

## Your bank, your books and the tools you run the work in, kept in agreement

Your bank, your accounting system and the tools you run the work in. Fynex reads them, does the finance work between them, and writes the result back.

100+ integrations.

**Accounting stack** — Every payment, fee and payout lands in your ledger, coded and reconciled — nobody re-keys it.

QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Wave.

**Banks & business accounts** — We read your balances and pay out of whichever account is cheapest — no bank portals, no copy-paste.

Revolut, Wise, Mercury, Brex, Airwallex, Ramp.

**Job management** — The job is where your profit is decided. We read it, then pay the crew against it.

Jobber, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, PaintScout, JobNimbus, Workiz.

**Lead sources & marketing** — Where the jobs come from and what each channel costs — so every won job is attributed back to the ad that bought it, and ROAS stops being a spreadsheet.

## Questions, answered

### What is job costing, and how does Fynex show true profit per job?

Job costing is working out the real profit on a single job after every cost — materials, crew, fees and channel spend — not just what landed in the bank. Fynex calculates true profit per job, channel and crew in real time as the money moves, so you see which jobs and which channels actually make money while you can still act on it. Xero holds the cash; Fynex holds the job-level margin.

### How do I know which customers have actually paid?

Fynex checks every invoice against what landed in your bank account, not against what someone marked as paid. If a customer settled 80% of an £8,400 invoice, the job shows as short by £1,680 rather than closed — and the balance keeps getting chased. Part payments, cheques and bank transfers all get matched back to the job they belong to, so nothing quietly slips.

### Can Fynex tell me how much cash I'll have next week?

Yes. Because Fynex reads the bank as well as the invoices, the forecast is built from money that has actually arrived plus what's genuinely still open — not from everything you've ever invoiced. That's what tells you whether next week's supplier and crew payments are covered.

### Can Fynex work out crew and subcontractor pay per job?

Yes. Set the rule once per role — a day rate, a price per job, a percentage, or a mix. When a job closes, Fynex works out what each person and each subcontractor is owed from the real job numbers, deducts CIS where it applies, and prepares the payment. It isn't rebuilt in a spreadsheet every week, and every amount ties back to the job it came from.

### Can I see profit by job, channel and crew?

Yes. Fynex shows margin by job, by marketing channel and by crew in real time, so you can tie spend to return and stop funding the channels that lose money. The profit numbers you've never had in one place, without stitching analytics together by hand.

### Does Fynex replace Tradify, simPRO or Xero?

No. You keep them. Tradify, Fergus or simPRO keep running the jobs and Xero stays your books. Fynex connects to them plus your bank and does the part none of them do on their own — matching money to jobs, showing profit per job, and working out crew and subcontractor pay with CIS deducted.

### Does Fynex work with Tradify, Fergus or simPRO and Xero?

Yes. Tradify, Fergus or simPRO keep running quotes, jobs and invoices; Xero stays your books. Fynex matches every payment to its job and bank line, books card fees as fees, shows profit per job, and works out crew and subcontractor pay — so Xero and your job software tell the same story.

### Does Fynex handle CIS deductions on subcontractor payments?

Yes. For every subcontractor under the Construction Industry Scheme, Fynex applies the rate from their HMRC verification — 20%, 30% or gross payment status — to the labour part of the invoice only, not materials or VAT, pays the net by Faster Payments, and issues the payment and deduction statement. The deductions build up into the monthly CIS return, ready to file.

### Can Fynex prepare our monthly CIS return?

Yes. Every deduction Fynex takes on a subcontractor payment is recorded against the subcontractor and the tax month, so the monthly CIS return is ready to file from the same numbers that went on each payment and deduction statement — not rebuilt from bank statements before the 19th.

### Why don't my card payouts match my bank deposits?

Because a payout isn't a payment. Card payments arrive in your bank as a batch, net of processing fees, often a day or two later — so one bank line covers several jobs and matches none of the invoice amounts. Deposits taken with no invoice number add to the confusion. Fynex breaks every payout back into the jobs it covers, books the fees as fees in Xero, and matches each deposit to its job.

### Can I pay subcontractors through Fynex?

Yes. Subcontractors and suppliers are paid by Faster Payments against the job they worked on. For CIS subcontractors, Fynex deducts CIS on the labour part at the verified rate, issues the payment and deduction statement, and matches the payment in Xero.

### Can customers pay on site or with a link?

Yes. Send a [payment link](https://docs.fynex.ai/payments-api/v1/docs/hosted-checkout) by text or email and the customer pays by card, wallet or bank transfer — no developer, no card machine. Whatever they pay lands against that job automatically, so it shows up in the profit and the outstanding list without anyone entering it.

### What does setup involve, and how long does it take?

You connect your accounting, your bank and the tool your jobs live in — that's the setup. From there Fynex reads what's already there rather than asking you to re-enter history. Pricing is public: card payments from 1.4%, payouts at 0.5% each, and larger flows priced on volume, corridors and risk ([pricing](/pricing/)). The fastest way to start is a free diagnostic of your current setup. No contract to start.
