Why is my new payout account "pending approval"?

Every new payout bank account is reviewed once before its first use, to make sure money only goes to accounts you genuinely added. It's a one-time check per account.

A new payout account shows pending approval because every bank destination is reviewed once before its first payout. Approving an account switches on real money movement to it, so we check each new one first — this is what stops a payout from being redirected to a bank account added by someone who shouldn’t have. It’s a one-time check per account.

What to expect

  • While it’s pending, the account can’t receive a payout. Any payout aimed at it waits until the account is approved.
  • Once approved, the account is ready and you won’t be asked again for it — future payouts go straight through.
  • If it’s rejected, the details usually couldn’t be confirmed. Double-check the IBAN and account details and add it again, or contact support if you’re unsure why.

Speeding it up

Enter the account details exactly as they appear at the receiving bank — a mismatch between the account name and the IBAN is the most common reason a new account takes longer to approve.
