Why does my refund show "pending"?
A refund is pending while it processes. Refunds are handled after the original payment settles, so a refund issued soon after payment waits briefly. After it succeeds, the bank still takes a few days to show it.
A refund shows pending while it’s being processed. Refunds are handled after the original payment has settled, so if you refund soon after the payment came in, the refund waits until settlement is ready before it moves. This is normal and it clears on its own.
The refund statuses
- Pending — processing. It’s either waiting for the original payment to settle, or in transit.
- Succeeded — sent back to the customer’s card.
- Failed — it didn’t go through; the reason is shown and the funds stay with you.
- Cancelled — cancelled before it completed.
When to look closer
- After “succeeded”, the customer may not see it for a few days — that’s their bank’s timing, not Fynex’s. Point them to their card statement.
- Stuck on pending far longer than usual? Contact support with the refund reference and we’ll check it.
